The town of Cervera del Maestre, with an altitude of 316 metres above sea level at the top of the castle, is located in the northwest of the province of Castellón (Valencian Community), 11 km from Sant Mateu, 14 from Benicarló and 24 from Vinaròs. Located in the geographical centre of the Baix Maestrat region, its municipal area of 94.1 km2 is bordered to the north by Traiguera and Sant Jordi, to the west by La Jana, Sant Mateu and Salsadella, to the south by Santa Magdalena and to the east by PeñÍscola and Cálig.
